Community consultation – UPDATE

Our 24 June event still went ahead. However, we fully appreciate that the Met Office’s red weather warning meant that some people who would like to have attended our consultation event were not able to. So, we will now be arranging a second event in the coming weeks. We will share further details as soon as we are able to set a date. In the meantime, you can also find out all about our plans and provide your feedback via this website.

We are proposing a new mixed-use neighbourhood of high-quality homes, a new primary school and a community hub set within generous green spaces located east of Whitchurch, off the A37 and Queen Charlton Lane. We have been very careful to retain a strong physical separation between Whitchurch Village and Bristol while ensuring the scheme’s benefits are for all residents, new and existing – and that the new local centre, primary school and open space are easy for existing residents to access.

Our outline proposal includes:

Web Icons Approximately £13.2 Million Community Infrastructure Levy

Through its draft local plan, Bath & North East Somerset Council (B&NES) is required to plan for a substantial number of new homes. We believe our proposal would help meet the district’s housing needs in a sustainable location, whilst also providing new community facilities and infrastructure which would benefit both existing and future residents of Whitchurch.

On this website we explain our scheme and welcome your feedback. We will review all comments before submitting our planning application. Importantly, your feedback will shape the discussions we have with council officers and statutory bodies as part of our planning application being determined. Where we are able to, we will seek to accommodate your requests and priorities in a way that also meets planning policies and officers’ requirements.

Outline application

Please note this is an outline planning application only, which seeks to agree the principle of development. All detailed matters will be agreed through subsequent reserved matters applications. The community will be consulted again on any future detailed applications.
